Porcelain Veneers

Patient Being Examined By Dentist

What are Porcelain Veneers?

If you have imperfections on your teeth or flaws in your smile, porcelain veneers can give you a new smile in just a few dental visits. Porcelain veneers are thin shells of porcelain that are shaped to fit on the front of your teeth, creating a new version of your smile. With porcelain veneers, you can have a new smile in just a few weeks without the need for longer or more invasive dental treatments. Dental veneers can last for up to ten years or more before they need replacement.

Why Would Porcelain Veneers Be Needed?

There are many reasons our patients choose porcelain veneers to improve the appearance of their smile. Imperfections like uneven or crooked teeth can require years of orthodontic treatment to fix. Some stains or flaws on the teeth cannot be removed with simple teeth whitening treatments. Porcelain veneers can resolve all these different issues by hiding your existing teeth behind a gorgeous façade. You can finally have the smile you always wanted and feel confident in your appearance.

Who Is a Candidate for Porcelain Veneers?

A good candidate for porcelain veneers will have cosmetic flaws they want to hide, but a healthy smile overall. Porcelain veneers require that a small amount of enamel be removed to allow the veneers to be attached to the teeth. If there is not enough tooth enamel or there are other oral health issues, you may need other dental treatments before dental veneers can be used.

What Happens During the Porcelain Veneers Procedure?

If you decide to undergo a smile makeover with porcelain veneers, Dr. Daniels and our dental team will prepare your teeth for your new smile. A small layer of enamel is removed, and we will take impressions of your teeth to create the exact shape of your veneers. Together, you and Dr. Daniels will decide the best new look for your smile and order the right veneers to create the desired effect. Once the dental lab creates your veneers, they will be adhered to your teeth, and you will walk out of our office with a new smile. You can brush and floss like normal to keep your smile healthy and improve the lifespan of your porcelain veneers.
